Browse Pahrump People Directories

Pahrump people directories do not sit behind one city search. The town is unincorporated, so county staff lists, school contacts, property rolls, business registers, and state license tools supply most current names. Older residents appear through phone books, cemetery files, photographs, newspapers, and family-history collections. Browse Pahrump directories according to the relationship you need to confirm: a public role, a school office, property ownership, a trade credential, a business contact, or a past tie to the valley. Some sources work online, while others require a call or a visit to a local reference desk.

Pahrump People Directory Sources

No incorporated city directory covers every Pahrump resident. The useful sources are kept by the Town of Pahrump, Nye County, the school district, Nevada agencies, libraries, and archives. Each directory describes one public relationship. A county staff entry confirms an official role. The assessor identifies an assessed owner, while the recorder names parties to recorded instruments. Historical collections connect names with schools, ranches, cemeteries, or earlier addresses. These distinctions keep a similar name from becoming a false match.

Choose the list that could have created a record for the person. Start with public staff directories for an office contact, the school directory for district personnel, and the owner roll for a parcel link. A historical name belongs in the library, museum, UNLV, cemetery, or FamilySearch trail. The statutory voter list has separate access and privacy rules, so it is not a substitute for a broad residential directory.

Pahrump Government Directory Paths

Pahrump has no city hall or incorporated-city employee book. The Town directory covers the Town Office, cemetery, ambulance billing, and related contacts. The broader Nye County directory is the functional local government directory for the recorder, assessor, clerk, courts, planning, public works, sheriff, and other county services. It accepts a category, first name, or last name and includes a “View Archived” option. Department pages can add office hours, fax numbers, and addresses.

The manifest capture of the county departmental employee directory shows how Pahrump staff searches are organized:

Use a department when a surname is uncertain. A missing entry may reflect an archived listing or a department page, so call the office main line before assuming the person has no county role.

NameStaff or official name
RoleTitle and department
ContactEmail plus direct or office phone when posted
OfficeDepartment address, hours, and fax where supplied
Extra detailAdditional phone, biography, or liaison assignment on some entries

For example, a Planning entry may show name, title, email, phone, additional phone, address, hours, and fax. Commissioner pages can add office and cell numbers. Nevada’s state employee portal was unavailable during research, so the Nevada Legislature’s 2025 government directory PDF is the stable agency and elected-official fallback rather than a guessed list of live fields.

Search Pahrump School Directories

The Nye County School District staff directory is the verified education directory serving Pahrump. It has a text filter for staff name, a department selector, numbered pages, and a jump-to-page control. Results may show a photo, name, title, department, phone, a “Send Message” route, and the related school or district page. A school-level page can narrow a districtwide result to the correct Pahrump campus.

The sample research entry for Superintendent Joseph H. Gent shows how a name, title, department, and district number appear together. No public Pahrump university, alumni directory, or verified online yearbook collection was located.

Pahrump Records Become Directories

Several official indexes act like narrow people directories. The Nye Assessor lists assessed and legal owners along with mailing and situs addresses. Situs means the parcel’s physical location; the mailing address is where tax correspondence goes and may be outside Pahrump. The Recorder index lists grantors and grantees, the parties who transfer an interest in a recorded document. The Town’s license list names businesses and can include a primary contact. Each proves only the relationship stated in that record.

The property portal accepts parcel ID, owner name, a house-number range, street, city, and ZIP. Search an eight-digit APN without the dashes shown in results. A parcel result can include ownership history and a vesting document number, which points to the recorded deed. For access law, fees, and certified-copy procedures, use the Pahrump public records system.

Record limits. An owner mailing address is not proof of residence, and a deed index is not the certified instrument.

Pahrump License Directory Choices

Business and professional directories answer different questions. Nevada’s current Secretary of State business path shows entity status, Nevada Business ID, type, registered agent, principals where applicable, and filing history. The state is moving to ORION in 2026, so follow the current link from the Secretary of State business hub instead of an old bookmark. The Town’s active-business register adds a local Pahrump tie through company, category or service, start date, primary contact, and related account columns.

For a credential, go to the board that issued it. Nevada provides separate lookups for contractors, real estate, medicine, nursing, attorneys, educators, and cosmetology. The Contractors Board can search by license number, company, principal, or qualified individual, and supports a wildcard around part of a name. Those tools show status and may link to public discipline. A company appearing in a member-maintained chamber directory is useful context, but it does not replace an official entity or license record.

Note: The ORION transition can change buttons and screens, so verify current instructions at the official Nevada business hub before searching.

Pahrump’s First Phone Directory

UNLV Special Collections identifies the first Pahrump Valley telephone directory by an exact artifact date: March 6, 1965. That verified cover and interior page mark a useful point in the valley’s directory history. Pahrump had been ranch and farm country, then grew through large-lot subdivisions, better road access, and new telephone service. A phone listing from that era can associate a surname with a household or business, but it should be paired with land, newspaper, census, or vital evidence.

1864Nye County was organized, long before Pahrump’s modern directory era.
1905The county seat moved to Tonopah, where central archives remain.
March 6, 1965UNLV dates the first Pahrump Valley telephone directory.
1986The Library of Congress directory begins its entry for the Pahrump Valley Times.
2026Town business lists and current web directories provide newer name trails.

Exact local runs of white pages, reverse directories, and yearbooks are not published. Ask a reference desk by source type and year rather than assuming a complete series survives.

Pahrump Library Directory Research

The Pahrump Community Library is the key local fallback when a web directory ends. It is independent of the Nye County Library system’s other branches. Ancestry Library Edition is available inside the Pahrump library and includes city directories, school and church sources, vital records, land and wills, military files, newspapers, maps, trees, stories, and images. Newspaper Source Plus provides a much broader full-text newspaper collection. Neither database replaces a certified custodian copy, but both can connect variants of a name with an era or place.

Pahrump Community Library

Ask the reference desk about phone books, reverse directories, local newspapers, yearbooks, and obituary files. Exact year spans require staff confirmation.

Pahrump Valley Museum

Ask about accession files, photo captions, school material, family-name indexes, clippings, and the valley’s store and ranch history.

UNLV Special Collections

Search collection PH-00221 by surname, ranch, school, business, or Pahrump. The Pahrump photo series spans 1910 to 1990.

UNLV also holds Pahrump oral histories, including teacher Geneva Stark Merwin and developer Kent “Tim” Hafen. Treat memories as historical testimony, not as certified civil facts.

Chief Tecopa’s Offline Directory

Chief Tecopa Cemetery has no verified online interment search, yet Town Ordinance 39.710 requires a public alphabetical Interment File. The file covers every person buried there, an interment number, the details required by Nevada law, and a section, plot, and grave map. Historical cemetery records must also be preserved. This is a true official directory that happens to be offline.

Call the sexton at 775-727-2825 with the deceased person’s full name, spelling variants, and an approximate death year. Ask for the interment number and mapped grave. The grounds are at 751 East Street and are open from dawn to dusk. A cemetery entry can support a family-history trail, but a death certificate still comes through the proper vital-record channel.

Note: A missing web result says nothing about the cemetery file because the mandated name index is maintained offline.

Trace Pahrump Historical Directories

Historic Nye names are spread across collections rather than one Pahrump volume. FamilySearch’s Nona Parkin compilation joins cemetery censuses, obituaries, juror lists, pioneer families, tax assessments, church material, and old voter lists. Its named voter abstracts cover Belmont, Ione, and Tybo, not Pahrump. That countywide collection can rebuild family networks, but place labels must stay intact.

The Nye County Photograph Collection at UNLV spans 1880 to 1990. Its Pahrump series, dated 1910 to 1990, documents the Hughes, Ruud, Turner, Wiley, Ford, Hafen, and Brown families along with ranches, schools, farming, stores, an airstrip, and festivals. Search photo metadata for a surname and associated place. Then search an oral-history transcript for roads, schools, churches, ranches, and businesses that may tie several people together.

City directory
A periodic name and address list. No complete Pahrump year run was verified.
Reverse directory
A list arranged by street address or phone number rather than surname.
Finding aid
An archive’s description of a collection, its boxes, subjects, dates, and access terms.
Interment file
A cemetery’s official record linking a deceased person with a burial number and grave location.

Older Nye records also followed the county seat from Ione to Belmont and then Tonopah. Pahrump branch counters are modern service points, not the original archive center. When a local directory yields no result, widen the place name and ask the Nevada State Archives or the relevant county custodian about the exact year and precinct.
